A look back at 2007

What an incredible year this has been. On December 13, 2006 we submitted our application to our adoption agency. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that a little over a year later we would be home with our daughter. We are incredibly blessed. Here is a little look back at our year ... month by month.

JANUARY ~ We attended PAC (a two day adoption workshop) at our agency. It was very overwhelming. We walked out of there so excited about our upcoming adventure!

FEBRUARY ~ We celebrated G's birthday, and had our adoption home study. On the 7th of February, we were officially on the waiting list for a baby.

MARCH ~ We celebrated my birthday.

APRIL ~ We celebrated L's first birthday!!! We also bought the boys a big playset/swingset - they were so excited! We also put our house on the market.

MAY ~ Future SIL's wedding shower.

JUNE ~ Bought a camper, and realized that it was one of the best purchases we have ever made. We made so many memories this summer. My brother got married in June, and G, myself and N were all in the wedding. We had such a great time!

JULY ~ Camping. The excitement and anticipation that referrals would finally start up again from Korea. (the rules changed Jan. 2007, and babies are now on a registry for domestic adoption for five months)

AUGUST ~ House showings. Trying to survive the awful market, and starting to get really antsy about our referral. We had our fingerprinting appointment on the 24th of this month.

SEPTEMBER ~ We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We received a contingent offer on our house. Survived tons of ups and downs with the house. Towards the end of September I started to get a little depressed about the adoption and felt like it was never going to happen. (we had been at the number 1 spot for awhile)

OCTOBER ~ October 5th was a day that we will never forget. It was the day that we saw our daughters face for the first time. That was the highest of highs! We received another non-contingent offer on our house. The original buyers came through and sold their house the day after we received the second offer. This was the start of a very ugly time. We had a hard time with the buyers, and I have seriously never been so stressed out in all my life. We also had to scramble to find a place to live.

NOVEMBER ~ We moved out of our house, and closed the first week in November. Moving was a royal pain - we had to pack and get out so fast. But, we were so thankful to sell our house during this awful housing market. We started construction on our new home the second week of November. On Thanksgiving Day we celebrated N's 3rd birthday.

DECEMBER ~ We received *the call* on the 17th of December. We left for Korea the following day. I bawled when we dropped the boys off at my parents house. I had such a hard time leaving them. We had an amazing time in Korea, and I am SO happy that we decided to travel. It was a trip of a lifetime. On December 24th, Molly was placed in our arms. What an emotional day that was. We left Korea on the 24th, and arrived home on the 24th. It was so awesome becoming a family of five on Christmas Eve.

What a year it has been!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone has a very happy, healthy and blessed 2008!
